“Madoka Magica” Announces New Film Sequel To Rebellion

During the online 10th anniversary event in Japan, a new “Madoka Magica” anime film was announced. The new film will be called “Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie: Walpurgis no Kaiten” and will be a sequel to the 2013 film “Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie Part 3: Rebellion”.

Alongside the announced, a teaser promotional video and key art were released with the tagline “Now, let’s continue the story”. The cast and staff from “Rebellion” will be returning for the new film with the animated studio SHAFT. No released date has been announced as of yet.

The original 12-episode TV anime “Puella Magi Madoka Magica” was released in 2011 and can currently be streamed on Funimation, Crunchyroll, HBO Max, Hulu and Netflix in subtitles and English dubbing.

“Puella Magi Madoka Magica” Synopsis: She has a loving family and best friends, laughs and cries from time to time… Madoka Kaname, an eighth grader of Mitakihara middle school, is one of those who lives such a life. One day, she had a very magical encounter. She doesn't know if it happened by chance or by fate yet. This is a fateful encounter that can change her destiny. This is a beginning of the new story of the magical witch girls.

In 2020, the spin-off TV anime series “Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story” was released. The 12-episode series is currently streaming on Funimation, Crunchyroll and HIDIVE in subtitles and English dubbing on Funimation.
