“Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie -Walpurgisnacht: Rising-” English Subtitled Trailer Released
The official Twitter for Aniplex of America released an English subtitled trailer for the upcoming “Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie -Walpurgisnacht: Rising-” anime film.
In addition, Aniplex launched the film’s English version website and Twitter.
During the online 10th anniversary event in Japan earlier this year, the new “Madoka Magica” anime film was announced. The film, known in Japan as “Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie: Walpurgis no Kaiten”, will be a sequel to the 2013 film “Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie Part 3: Rebellion”.
The cast and staff from “Rebellion” will be returning for the new film along with the animated studio SHAFT. No released date has been announced as of yet. The tagline for the new film is "Let's continue our story".
The original 12-episode TV anime “Puella Magi Madoka Magica” was released in 2011 and can currently be streamed on Funimation, Crunchyroll, HBO Max, Hulu and Netflix in subtitles and English dubbing.
“Puella Magi Madoka Magica” Synopsis: She has a loving family and best friends, laughs and cries from time to time… Madoka Kaname, an eighth grader of Mitakihara middle school, is one of those who lives such a life. One day, she had a very magical encounter. She doesn't know if it happened by chance or by fate yet. This is a fateful encounter that can change her destiny. This is a beginning of the new story of the magical witch girls.
In 2020, the spin-off TV anime series “Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story” was released. The 12-episode series is currently streaming on Funimation, Crunchyroll and HIDIVE in subtitles and English dubbing on Funimation.
Funimation, Crunchyroll, and HIDIVE recently announced the streaming rights to “Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story Season 2 - The Eve of Awakening -”. Funimation began the simulcast on July 31, 2021 as it premiered in Japan. Crunchyroll and HIDIVE are set to stream the fantasy series weekly starting on August 7, 2021.
A third season entitled “Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story Final Season - Dawn of Light Dreams” was recently announced for end of 2021.
“Puella Magi Madoka Magica” manga is currently being published by Yen Press in the US.
