Funimation Set To Release “Super Cub” On Blu-ray
Funimation announced recently that the anime “Super Cub” will be released on Blu-ray. The slice-of-life series is set to be released on May 31, 2022.
“Super Cub - The Complete Season” Blu-ray will include all 12 episodes in English dubbing and Japanese subtitles. Extra features will include location scouting videos, a promo video, commercials, textless opening song, and textless closing song. The Blu-ray is currently available for pre-order on Funimation.
Funimation Synopsis: Koguma finds her freedom on a motorcycle. But with no parents, friends, or plans for the future, she doesn’t have much else. That is, until she meets a fellow biker, Reiko. Together, they’ll discover friendship, fun, and the adventure of the open road.
Based on the light novel series by Tone Koken and illustrated by Hiro (creator of “Akebi’s Sailor Uniform” manga), “Super Cub” was released in April 2021 and was simulcast as it aired in Japan on Funimation. The anime is produced by Studio KAI and directed by Toshirou Fujii. The series stars Yuki Yomichi as “Koguma”, Ayaka Nanase as “Reiko”, and Natsumi Hioka as “Shii Eniwa”.
Kadokawa has published 7 volumes of the light novel series since May 2017 in Japan. Comic NewType is currently publishing the manga and it has 6 volumes in print. Neither have been licensed in English as of yet.
