“The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated!” Anime To Stream On Crunchyroll
Crunchyroll announced today the exclusive distribution rights to the new TV anime “The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated!”. The comedy series will be a part of Crunchyroll’s Summer 2021 anime season lineup.
“The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated!” is set to premiere on July 31, 2021 and will run for two-cours (half a year). Crunchyroll will stream the anime in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS.
Crunchyroll Synopsis: After the Dark Realm falls and the Great Jahy is defeated, she must survive in the human world and in a one-room apartment!
The anime is an adaption of Wakame Konbu’s manga, known in Japan as “Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai!”, currently being published in Square Enix's Monthly Gangan Joker magazine. The animation production will be done by SILVER LINK.
The cast of “The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated!” includes: Naomi Ohzora as Jahy, Ai Kayano as Tencho ("Shop Manager"), Yōko Hikasa as Ooya ("Landlady"), Kana Hanazawa as Druj, Mikako Komatsu as Salwa, Sumire Uesaka as Mahou Shoujo ("Magical Girl"), and Yui Ogura as Kokoro.
Square Enix Manga and Books currently publishes the “The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated!” manga in the US in English. Volume 1 is set to be released July 27, 2021 in print and digitally.
Square Enix Synopsis: The Great Jahy, the Dark Realm’s second-in-command, cuts a frightening figure, feared and revered by all. But when a run-in with a magical girl results in the destruction of the precious mana crystal, the Dark Realm falls, transporting the newly puny and powerless Jahy to the human world! Unfortunately, plotting the revival of the Dark Realm from a cramped, crumbling one-room apartment is no easy feat when you have rent to pay and a job to keep!
