Indie game studio Oracle and Bone released “A Summer's End - Hong Kong 1986” back in April 2020. The Yuri visual novel is available on Steam and itch.io for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

The single-player game is described as “a visual novel set in 1980s Hong Kong. It tells of a love story between two women.”

The game features an interactive character dialogue with two unique endings, a point-based system to unlock bonus scenes, over 400 original hand-drawn art assets, and an 80s inspired soundtrack.

In addition, an “Adult Patch” with Mature Content can be downloaded for free to add optional adult-orientated scenes that are integrated into the main storyline and extend the gameplay with 6 additional cutscenes.

The estimated gameplay is 8 hours, and is currently available in English, simplified Chinese, and traditional Chinese subtitles.

Story Synopsis: Follow the story of Michelle and Sam, and how their chance meeting evolves into a deeper relationship. Set in vibrant Hong Kong in the year 1986, it is an original story about love, family, and culture.

A Summer's End - Hong Kong 1986 is about seeking identity and meaning in a rapidly changing world where conflicting worldviews and cultures collide. Inspired by Hong Kong cinema, 80s anime, city pop, and contemporary Asian literature, A Summer’s End - Hong Kong 1986 is an homage to the past and a visual delight for fans of retro art and fashion.

“A Summer's End - Hong Kong 1986” is available to purchase on Steam and itch.io for $14.99.
