“Blue Reflection: Second Light” Game To Be Released November 2021

Publisher KOEI Tecmo and developer Gust recently announced that “Blue Reflection: Second Light” will be released on November 9, 2021 in North America and Europe. The game will be available on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

The new game, known in Japan as “Blue Reflection: Tie”, will be a sequel to 2017’s “Blue Reflection” and was previously announced to be released in Japan on October 21, 2021 for Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

Synopsis: “BLUE REFLECTION: Second Light” follows the adventures of three students – Ao Hoshizaki, Kokoro Utsubo, and Yuki Kinjou – who find themselves transported to a mysterious floating academy, searching for clues to find their way back home, with only their names as memories. One day, a path leading to a new land appears, but when the three protagonists set off to unravel the mystery, they’re met by a series of deadly monsters. By battling the fiendish creatures, they unlock unknown powers that only seem to deepen the cryptic nature of their surroundings.

Throughout the adventure, the three friends cooperate and struggle to make their everyday-life as rich and as fun as possible. While spending every day trapped in this unknown world, the characters’ true feelings and personalities will be revealed, and as their bonds grow deeper, they will acquire new strengths and abilities. Furthermore, not only will the protagonists be able to build their ideal academy throughout the game, but they will also be able to craft items together, and depending on the character combinations, the completed item’s properties can change, even triggering special conversations. By deepening their friendships, the three students will eventually grow closer to the mystery of this world and the reason of why they lost their memories.

In addition to the Western release date, it was announced that the character “Hiori Hirahara”, voiced by Manaka Iwami, will appear in the new game. “Hiori Hirahara” is a main characters of the TV anime “Blue Reflection Ray”, and will be one of the key characters that ties together the stories of the anime and game.

“Blue Reflection Ray” is currently being simulcast in the US by Funimation as it airs in Japan. The TV anime is set to run for two cours or half a year.

NIS America also announced a Limited Edition version of “Blue Reflection: Second Light” that is available to pre-order for the PS4 and Nintendo Switch. The package includes exclusive cloth poster, academy notebook-styled photo album, art book, 2 acrylic mini character charms, “Special Costume for Ao: Ryza Style” download code, and a North American Collector’s Box.

The franchise previously announced a third game entitled “Blue Reflection: Sun” that will launch for smartphones and PC in the next year.
