“The Aquatope on White Sand” Reveals New Key Art And Promo Video For 2nd Half

The official website for “The Aquatope on White Sand” TV Anime revealed new key art and a promotional video to tease the upcoming second half of the series.

The original anime is confirmed to run for 2 cours (half a year). The promo video previews the second opening theme song titled "Tomedonai Shiosai ni Bokutachi wa Nani wo Utau Darо̄ ka" by ARCANA PROJECT. ARCANA PROJECT previously performed the first opening theme song "Tayutae, Nanairo" (Swirl, Seven Colors).

In addition, new cast members were announced including: Mikako Komatsu as “Kaoru Shimabukuro”, Kiyono Yasuno as “Akari Maeda” and Nao Tōyama as “Marina Yonekura”. They join recently announced cast member Yui Ishikawa as “Chiyu Haebara”.

The P.A. Works production known in Japan as “Shiroi Suna no Aquatope”, stars Miku Itō as Kukuru Misakino, Rikako Aida as Fuuka Miyazawa, Azumi Waki as Tsukimi Teruya, Lynn as Karin Kudaka, Shimba Tsuchiya as Kai Nakamura, Yohei Azakami as Kuuya Yakamashi, and Hiroshi Yanaka as Ojii.

“The Aquatope on White Sand” premiered on July 8, 2021 and is currently being simulcast on Crunchyroll outside of Japan.

Tagline: The two girls met in the ruins of damage dream.

Synopsis: The anime takes place at Gama Gama Aquarium, a small aquarium in Okinawa, an hour's bus ride from Naha. Kukuru Misakino is an 18-year-old high school student who works there, and she knows about the "secret" of the aquarium: sometimes you can see mysterious things. One day Kukuru meets Fuuka, standing in front of a water tank with flowing hair and a tear rolling down her cheek. Fuuka has given up on her dream of becoming an idol and she has run away from Tokyo to Okinawa. Wanting to find a place to belong, Fuuka earnestly asks to work at the aquarium. The anime follows Kukuru and Fuuka as they deal with the issues of the secret of the aquarium and a looming crisis of its possible closure.
