“Lycoris Recoil” Anime Set To Stream On Crunchyroll

Crunchyroll announced that they have acquired exclusive rights to the upcoming original anime “Lycoris Recoil”. The streamer will simulcast the anime as it airs in Japan as part of their Summer 2022 Anime Season. The fantasy anime is set to be released on July 2, 2022.

Crunchyroll will simulcast the series in subtitles and English dubbing to audiences in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East and CIS.

Crunchyroll Synopsis: In a downtown Tokyo cafe, a group of girls will help sort out any problems to help the local customers.

In addition, the “Lycoris Recoil” anime website recently announced that the opening theme song will be “Alive” by ClariS and released a promotional video previewing the song (below).

It was previously announced that the ending theme song will be "Hana no Tō" (Tower of Flowers) by Sayuri and a new promo video was also released teasing the song (below).

The anime stars Chika Anzai as “Chisato Nishikigi”, Shion Wakayama as “Takina Inoue”, Ami Koshimizu as “Mizuki Nakahara”, Misaki Kuno as “Kurumi”, and Kosuke Sakaki as “Mika”.

A-1 Pictures is producing the project with Shingo Adachi (Sword Art Online) as director. The anime is an original story by Asaura, and Imigimuru will be handling the character design. Adachi will be making his director debut.

“Lycoris Recoil” Website Synopsis: Peaceful days. There is a secret behind it. A secret organization that prevents crimes called "DA (Direct Attack)" and the girls who are the agents called "licorice". Follow a smiley signboard girl, “Chisato Nishikigi”, and a serious newcomer, “Takina Inoue”, as they work in a Japanese cafe called "Lyco-Reco" (Riko Riko) in downtown Tokyo. From delicious coffee and sweets, to zombie extermination, and dealing with giant monsters, they will handle any trouble for their customers.
