“WATATEN!: an Angel Flew Down to Me” Anime Film Set To Be Released October 14

The official website for “WATATEN!: an Angel Flew Down to Me” (Watashi ni Tenshi ga Maiorita!) anime announced the release date along with new key art and a promotional video for the upcoming film. “WATATEN!: an Angel Flew Down to Me Precious Friends” (Watashi ni Tenshi ga Maiorita! Precious Friends) is set to be released in theaters on October 14, 2022 in Japan.

The cast of the TV anime will return for the new sequel film, including Reina Ueda as “Miyako Hoshino”, Maria Sashide as “Hana Shirosaki”, Rika Nagae as “Hinata Hoshino”, Akari Kitō as “Noa Himesaka”, Hitomi Ōwada as “Koyori Tanemura”, Naomi Ohzora as “Kanon Konomori”, and Lynn as “Koko Matsumoto”. The new promo video teases the film’s theme song "Precious Friends" by Wataten☆5, the five-member voice actress unit.

Film Synopsis: Hana, Hinata, Noa, Koyori, and Kanon are always good friends. Today, they are having a friendly sweets party at home with Miyako's homemade sweets! The flower-shaped cookies look just like the hair ornaments worn by Hana. The hair ornament was a precious treasure that Hana received from her grandmother when she was little, and everyone was intrigued by the story. And as "practice for the school trip," they decide to go visit Hana's grandmother's house...! The "first" outing for everyone is about to begin.

The Doga Kobo animation will be directed by Daisuke Hiramaki, with Yuka Yamada writing the screenplay, and Hiromi Nakagawa handling the character design. The anime is based on the manga by Nanatsu Mukunoki, which is being serialized in Ichijinsha’s Comic Yuri Hime magazine.
