“The Executioner and Her Way of Life” Anime Announces April 1 Premiere Date With Character Promo Videos

The official website for “The Executioner and Her Way of Life” anime released four character promotional videos with the announcement of the premiere date. The fantasy Yuri series is set to be released on April 1, 2022.

The anime stars Iori Saeki as “Menou”, the Executioner. A young executioner girl who has exceptional magical talent. She is strongly dedicated to her mission and tries to finish off Akari before her power gets out of hands. She gets close to her targets with friendly manner to grasp their ability before killing them. Her main weapons are short blade and sacred scripture.

Moe Kahara as “Akari”, the Lost One. She is affectionate and easy-going. Menou is unable to kill her because of her ability even though she is not aware of it herself. She begins her journey with Menou, without knowing her true intentions.

Hisako Kanemoto as “Momo”, the executioner's assistant and wears white clothes as a priest apprentice. She supports the journey to kill Akari. She really loves Menou, and lives Menou. Therefore, the faith in the “lord” that a priest should have is close to zero. She is a combat genius who uses a jigsaw with power as a weapon, but she is not good at scripture magic.

M.A.O as “Ashuna”, the wandering princess knight. Princess of the Kingdom of Grizarika. She loves strong and beautiful things. She has absolute confidence in her body and strength that she has trained herself. She has a warlike personality. She jumps out of the castle and makes her a world-class journey. People call her "princess knight" with her respect. With her royal heraldic sword in her hand, she is always looking for an exciting battle.

The anime is an adaptation of the light novel series “The Executioner and Her Way of Life”, known in Japan as “Shokei Shoujo no Virgin Road”, written by Mato Sato and illustrated by nilitsu. J.C. Staff is handling the animation production with Yoshiki Kawasaki as director. The opening theme song will be "Paper Bouquet" by Mili and ChouCho is performing the ending theme song "Touka Serenade".

Official Website Synopsis: Once upon a time, the world was thrown into a chaos by people from another world with special powers known as “The Lost Ones”. To maintain peace, “The Executioners” are to kill “The Lost Ones” without mercy. This is a story of an unlikely pair; executioner Menou, who tries to be pure, honest, and strong to carry out her mission and “The Lost One” Akari who has extraordinary ability. Where will the path lead them?

Warner Bros. Japan officially announced the TV series in January at the GA Fest 2021 event. The light novels are currently being published in Japan by SB Creative under their GA Bunko imprint and won the grand prize at the GA Bunko Awards in 2018. A manga adaptation was launched in Square Enix's Young Gangan magazine in June 2020.

“The Executioner and Her Way of Life” light novels are currently being published in English by Yen Press. Volume 4 was released on April 19, 2022.

Yen Press Synopsis: The Lost Ones are wanderers who come here from a distant world known as "Japan." No one knows how or why they leave their homes. The only thing that is certain is that they bring disaster and calamity. The duty of exterminating them without remorse falls to Menou, a young Executioner. When she meets Akari, it seems like just another job...until she discovers it's impossible to kill this girl! And when Menou begins to search for a way to defeat this immortality, Akari is more than happy to tag along! So begins a journey that will change Menou forever...
