“PuraOre! ~Pride of Orange~” Girls Ice Hockey TV Anime To Stream On Funimation

Funimation announced today the streaming rights to the upcoming girls ice hockey anime “PuraOre! ~Pride of Orange~”. The new TV series is set to premiere on October 6, 2021, and will be a part of Funimation’s Fall 2021 Anime Season Lineup.

Funimation will stream “PuraOre! ~Pride of Orange~” to audiences in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand as it airs in Japan, as well as Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Peru and Brazil with simulcast dates to be confirmed.

Set in Nikko City in Toshigi Prefecture, “PuraOre! ~PRIDE OF ORANGE~” follows the athletic adventures of Manaka Mizusawa, a middle school student who becomes infatuated with ice hockey, along with her little sister Ayaka and her childhood friends Naomi and Kaoruko, after witnessing the Nikko Dream Monkeys practice. The girls officially join the team and experience the trials and tribulations of ice hockey together.

Promoted as "the first girls' ice hockey anime ever", the main cast includes: Riku Masuda as “Manaka Mizusawa”, Satomi Hongo as “Yu Kiyose”, Mayu Sagara as “Ayaka Mizusawa”, Saika Kitamori as “Riko Saginuma”, Asuka Shiori as “Naomi Takagi”, Yurika Moriyama as “Kaoruko Yanagida”, and Yoshino Aoyama as “Mami Ono”.

“PuraOre! Pride of Orange” is a multimedia project by CyberAgent's CAAnimation label and DMM Games. A game called “PuraOre! Pride of Orange: Smile Princess” based on the anime is being developed and will be released sometime in 2021. Takebumi Anzai is directing the anime at C2C.
