Funimation Announces “Battle Athletes Victory ReSTART!” April 2021 Premiere
Funimation recently announced the exclusive rights to stream the anime “Battle Athletes Victory ReSTART!” in the US. Based on the 90’s multimedia franchise “Battle Athletes Victory”, the new series is set to premiere on the streamer April 2021.
Synopsis: Aspiring athletes from around the galaxy gather to compete in a tournament where the winner will be crowned the Cosmic Beauty. What begins as rivalry grows into friendship among the athletes, including a lunar refugee and her kangaroo companion, the daughter of an arms-dealing CEO, a mysterious loner, and Earth’s representative…a humble potato farmer named Kanata Akehoshi.
From studio Seven and director Tokihiro Sasaki, “Battle Athletes Victory ReSTART!” stars voice actors Sumire Morohoshi as Kanata Akehoshi; Miyu Tomita as Shelley Wong; and Yui Ishikawa as Eva Gallenstein. “Battle Athletes Victory” originally aired in 1997 and the franchise also includes manga, video games, novels, and radio dramas. The new anime is set to premiere April 10, 2021 in Japan.
