“Encouragement of Climb Next Summit” TV Anime Set To Premiere October 4

The official website for “Encouragement of Climb Next Summit” (Yama no Susume Next Summit) announced the premiere date with new key art and trailer for upcoming TV anime. The slice-of-life anime is set to premiere on October 4, 2022.

In addition, the new trailer previews the opening theme song "Omoi Nochi Hare" (Memories, and Later Sunny) by Yuka Iguchi and Kana Asumi as their respective characters “Aoi” and “Hinata”.

The “Encouragement of Climb” franchised previously announced that the new season will have 12 episodes and each episode will run for 30 minutes, a first for the franchise. “Encouragement of Climb Next Summit” will have recap compilations of previous seasons with newly-produced short stories for the first four episodes. All-new episodes will begin with episode 5.

“Encouragement of Climb: Next Summit” stars Yuka Iguchi as “Aoi Yukimura”, Kana Asumi as “Hinata Karaue”, Yōko Hikasa as “Kaede Saitō”, Yui Ogura as “Kokona Aoba”, and Nao Tōyama as “Honoka Kurosaki”. New character “Koharu” will be voiced by Emiri Iwai.

The anime is an adaptation of Siro's mountaineering-themed manga “Encouragement of Climb” (Yama no Suzum), which was launched in Comic Earth Star in 2011 in Japan. 8-Bit will be once again handling the animation of the new season with Yūsuke Yamamoto retuning to direct.

“Encouragement of Climb Next Summit” will be the fourth season in the franchise. Season 1 launched in 2013 with 12 episodes that were 3 minutes and 30 seconds in length. Season 2 launched in 2014 with 12 episodes expanded to 14 minutes in length. An OVA was released in 2017 and Season 3 launched in 2018 with 12 episodes. Crunchyroll streamed all 3 seasons as they aired in Japan and seasons 1, 3 and the OVA are currently available to watch in subtitles.

Crunchyroll Synopsis: Aoi prefers indoor hobbies and is afraid of heights, but her childhood friend Hinata loves to show off her passion for mountain climbing. As young children they once watched the sunrise from the top of a mountain, and now they've decided to take up mountain climbing in hopes of seeing that sunrise again. They have cooking battles with mountaineering gear, climb small hills in their neighborhood, and meet new mountaineering friends as they learn the ropes of the hobby. When will they finally see that sunrise again?
