“Bocchi the Rock!” Anime Set To Premiere On October 8

The official website for “Bocchi the Rock!” anime announced the premiere date with a trailer and new key visual to tease the upcoming anime. The musical TV anime is set to premiere on October 8, 2022.

The story follows Hitori Goto, "Bocchi-chan", a lonely high school girl who loves playing the guitar and spends her days playing alone at home. Hitori has a negative personality and she is not very sociable, but after uploading a video of her guitar playing online, she is recruited to join the "Kessoku Band" by its drummer, Nijika Ijichi.

The anime stars Yoshino Aoyama as “Hitori ‘Bocchi-chan’ Gotō”, Sayumi Suzushiro as “Nijika Ijichi”, Saku Mizuno as “Ryо̄ Yamada”, and Ikumi Hasegawa as “Ikuyo Kita”.

In addition to the new visual and main trailer, the official website released a character promotional video for “Hitori ‘Bocchi-chan’ Gotō” (below).

CloverWorks will be handling the animation with director, Keiichiro Saito, and assistant-director, Yusuke Yamamoto. The series composition and screenplay will be done by Erika Yoshida and Kerorira is designing the characters. Music will be done by Tomoki Kikuya. The anime is based on the manga by Aki Hamaji launched in 2017. The manga is currently being serialized in Manga Time Kirara Max in Japan and released volume 3 in February 2021.
